Who are we?

The Tū Pono management board are local Māori community leaders with a wide range of expertise who have worked with whānau for many years across Te Tauihu.

What we do?

Tū Pono Te Mana Kaha ō te whānau - Te Tauihu o Te Waka-a-Māui was formed in 2017 after a series of hui to build a stronger Māori response to ending whānau violence and harm.

Whānau/family harm and violence, means any form of physical, sexual or psychological abuse against a whānau member that affects that persons tinana, wairua, hinengaro and their wider whānau.
